When<br \/>\nshe was 15 she switched to the viola, attracted by its rich, deep sound. She studied under Sabine<br \/>\nToutain and Louis Fima at the Paris Conservatoire Sup\u00e9rieur-CRR.<br \/>\nWhile studying for a degree in Musicology at the Sorbonne, she also obtained a Diploma in Musical<br \/>\nStudies* at the Boulogne-Billancourt Regional Conservatoire. Then, she completed a Cycle Professionnel**, with Tasso Adamopoulos in Bordeaux and Pierre-Henri Xuereb in Gennevilliers,<br \/>\nwhere she also obtaine the Prix de Perfectionnement***. She also received valuable advice from<br \/>\nSerge Collet and Yuri Bashmet during masterclasses.<br \/>\nMeeting Maestro Sergiu Celibidache in 1996 had a lasting effect on her, and she decided to take<br \/>\nhis masterclasses in chamber music and phenomenology of music, which were taught in France by<br \/>\nhis assistant at the Munich Philharmonic, Konrad von Abel.<br \/>\nShe has been invited to play in France and abroad (Morocco, Italy, Germany, Mexico) in numerous<br \/>\norchestras (Pasdeloup, Morocco Philharmonic, European Regions) and chamber music ensembles<br \/>\n(Quatuor, Lunaria, Duo Constance), and has also participated in various festivals such as the<br \/>\nFestival Musical d&#8217;Automne, Les Envol\u00e9es Lyriques, and the Rheingau Musik Festival.<br \/>\nHer inborn curiosity about other musical styles has led her to work with the medieval music<br \/>\nEnsemble Kantika and Atelier Porte Soleil (readings accompanied by music), and also to train in<br \/>\nimprovisation, with H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Breschand (Ensemble Laborintus), and tango, with Juanjo Mosalini.<br \/>\nShe is currently training in baroque music at the Vall\u00e9e de Chevreuse Conservatoire.<br \/>\nAs musician and teacher, Judith has also had a long term interest in body work, through dance and<br \/>\ntheatre, notably using the Cl\u00e9ret method, which is based on observation of sensations and<br \/>\nbreathing.<br \/>\nShe currently teaches viola, orchestra and chamber music at the Ecole PRIZMA in Boulogne-<br \/>\nBillancourt, and viola at the Malakoff Conservatoire (92 Dpt).<br \/>\nTranslator&#8217;s notes<br \/>\n*the Dipl\u00f4me d&#8217;\u00e9tudes musicales (Diploma in Musical Studies) is the highest diploma awarded by<br \/>\nthe regional and departmental Conservatoires.<br \/>\n**the Cycle Professionnel is a vocational training program in France offered in many artistic<br \/>\ndisciplines<br \/>\n***the Prix de Perfectionnement is the diploma after the Dipl\u00f4me d&#8217;\u00e9tudes musicales<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Born into a family of musicians, Judith Godeberge started playing the violin at the age of 7.
