Coming<br \/>\nfrom a strong musical lineage with backgrounds as soloist and chamber musicians, Eleonora and<br \/>\nMichele\u2019s partnership as a piano duo took off in 2013 and was met with positive critical acclaim.<br \/>\nThe American Record Guide, the oldest independent reviews magazine in USA, writes: \u2018Their<br \/>\nensemble is spot on, and there is a wonderful flow to the music under their fingers\u2019.<br \/>\nIn June 2014, they were unanimously awarded the prestigious \u2018Dipl\u00f4me Sup\u00e9rieur d\u2019Ex\u00e9cution\u2019 at<br \/>\nthe Ecole Normale De Musique Alfred Cortot in Paris, under the supervision of Chantal De<br \/>\nBuchy. Lifelong learners, they received master\u2019s degrees with honors, in 2019, at the Maastricht<br \/>\nConservatorium of Music in the Netherlands under professors Igor Roma, Henk Guittart, and<br \/>\nEnrico Pace. They also studied at the Universit\u00e4t fu\u0308r Musik in Graz (Austria) with Sivan Silver and<br \/>\nGil Garburg.<br \/>\nThe duo performs regularly throughout Europe and across the globe: Salle Cortot, Auditorium<br \/>\nOpera Bastille, Maison de la Radio in Paris and Palais Acropolis in Nice (France), Hijstekzaal<br \/>\nMaastricht and Linburgzaal Heerlen (The Netherlands), Grosser Konzertsaal in Munich (Germany),<br \/>\nIzumi Hall Osaka (Japan), Auditorium Galindo Blas in Mexico City and Teatro de la Ciudad in<br \/>\nCelaya (Mexico), Guangzhou Royal Opera House, Tianjin Grand Theater, Shandong Grand<br \/>\nTheater and Auditorium Nankai University (China), Turner Center de Kerikeri and Wanganui<br \/>\nRoyal Opera House (New Zealand), to name just a few.<br \/>\nInvited to perform at the Johannesburg International Mozart Festival, their last tour in South<br \/>\nAfrica was a resounding success with critics and audiences. The tour saw them pack out venues<br \/>\nacross Johannesburg, Grahamstown, Hermanus, Potchefstroom, Pretoria, and several other cities.<br \/>\nTo quote the Potchefstroom Herald newspaper, \u2018their two pianos recital will be long-remembered\u2019.<br \/>\nIn 2019, Eleonora and Michele performed triumphantly in Australia and New Zealand (\u2018four<br \/>\nmagic hands for a piano&#8217; &#8211; SBS Australia) with numerous recitals in Sydney, Melbourne and<br \/>\nCanberra.<br \/>\nRecent highlights include their performances at the Maison de la Radio and at the Theatre<br \/>\nde l&#8217;Alliance Fran\u00e7aise in Paris for the radio shows \u2018G\u00e9n\u00e9ration Jeunes Interpr\u00e8tes\u2019 and \u2018G\u00e9n\u00e9ration<br \/>\nFrance Musique &#8211; le Live\u2019 broadcasts for the famed Radio France National Radio. Live on Rai<br \/>\nRadio3, the duo performed for the radio program \u201cLa Stanza della Musica\u201d. All podcasts are<br \/>\navailable on major digital music service providers.<br \/>\nTheirs recordings were presented by Radio France, Rai Radio3, Vatican Radio, Rete Toscana<br \/>\nClassica, Radio Popolare Milano, Radio Classica, SBS Australia, Art Sound FM Canberra, Cultura<br \/>\nFM Brazil and Radio Suisse.<br \/>\nDuring the upcoming concert season, they will perform on main venues in Europe, Australia and<br \/>\nSouth Africa, where they will appear as soloists with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra<br \/>\nand the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra.<br \/>\nTheir acclaimed 2015 recording of Brahms\u2019s complete works for two pianos for Brilliant Classics<br \/>\nRecords has been praised by audiences and critics alike. Many high-profile music magazines in<br \/>\nItaly and France (Amadeus, Musica, Suonare News, Pianiste) regard the recording as among of their<br \/>\nmost notable work to date, awarding it the highest possible score in 2015. The Italian critic Luca<br \/>\nSegalla commented that \u2018Eleonora Spina and Michele Benignetti, with utmost care and attention<br \/>\nto sound, precisely execute the contrapuntal game of variation no. 4, carving out a finale which<br \/>\nmakes one feel as if one is listening to an orchestra\u2019 (Musica Magazine, September 2015).<br \/>\nThe album \u2018Lifetime\u2019 followed in January 2017. Released by Sheva Collection, it went on to win<br \/>\nGold Medals for Best Album, Best Duo, and Best Emerging Artists at the 2017 Global Music<br \/>\nAwards in La Jolla, California (USA). The third album \u2018Visions\u2019 is also released on Sheva<br \/>\nCollection, the London-based label, on July 2021 and it contains the premiere of C\u00e9sar Franck&#8217;s<br \/>\nPrelude, Fugue and Variation op.18, transcribed for piano four hands by Abel Marie Decaux. In<br \/>\nSeptember 2022, the new album \u201cSchubert\u2019s Music for Piano Four Hands\u201d is released with Apple<br \/>\nDigital Masters certification, by UK label Ulysses Arts, featuring Schubert\u2019s major works for piano<br \/>\nduet and a transcription of the Trout Piano Quintet D667 for piano four hands.<br \/>\nEleonora and Michele are also professors who currently teach at the Cit\u00e9 de la Musique et de la<br \/>\nDanse in Soissons (France).
