Tessier started studying saxophone at the age of thirteen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When he was eighteen, he moved to Angers to study Classical Saxophone and Musicology. He graduated with a bachelor in History of Music and a \u201cDipl\u00f4me d\u2019Etudes Musicales \u00e0 l\u2019unanimit\u00e9 avec les f\u00e9licitations du jury\u201d in 2008.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2004, Tessier received the second prize in the \u201cConcours International de Saxophone de Nantes\u201d, and won in 2007 the first prize in the \u201cConcours Artistique d\u2019Epinal\u201d. He created in 2009 a concerto for saxophone and band, written by the French composer S\u00e9bastien Rabiller.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tessier furthered his studies in Besan\u00e7on (graduated in 2010 with a \u201cDipl\u00f4me de Concert \u00e0 l\u2019unanimit\u00e9\u201d), and then in Paris where he decided to switch to Jazz. He was under the tutelage of famous jazz players in Paris such as Sylvain Beuf, S\u00e9bastien Jarousse, David Prez, and studied composition and arrangement with Eric Schultz and Laurent Coq.<br \/>\nTessier graduated in Jazz in 2013 with the \u201cDipl\u00f4me d\u2019Etudes Musicales mention tr\u00e8s bien\u201d. He set up the Samuel Tessier quartet and was involved in big bands. He played in numerous prestigious Jazz places in Paris (Sunset\/Sunside, Espace B, L\u2019Entrep\u00f4t, L\u2019\u00c2ge d\u2019Or).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In 2013, Samuel Tessier moved to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland which is based in Glasgow (United Kingdom). He is now a student in the Jazz Department under the tutelage of the international saxophonist Tommy Smith<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSamuel Tessier is an educator and musician with great integrity.
