Claudine Christophe

 

Claudine CHRISTOPHE began her viola and recorder studies at the Metz Conservatory. Seduced by the warm and expressive sound of the viola, she continued her training at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris Alfred Cortot where she obtained Diplôme Supérieur d’Exécution and after that at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Paris where she obtained her Diploma of Instrument and of General Studies.

At the same time, Claudine CHRISTOPHE undertakes studies in Musicology at the University of Paris IV Sorbonne.

Strongly attracted to chamber music, she created the Quartet Alma and studied with the Quartet Ysaye, and later with Jean Sulem in the advanced class at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP).

As part of the European Chamber Music Center – ProQuartet, she worked with renowned quartets such as Lasalle Quartet, Tokyo Quartet, Quartet Vermeer, Quartet Alban Berg…

Her Quartet Alma, which has won numerous prizes (Mozart Prize, First Prize in the Fnapec competition, Cultural Prize of the city of Salzburg, Classical Revelation of Adami), performs in many festivals in France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Canada, Switzerland… in collaboration with prestigious artists.

She is now a member of the Quatuor Canopée and plays regularly with various ensembles of variable geometry such as La Maison Illuminée (Oswald Sallaberger), L’Orchestre de Chambre d’Ile-de-France (JW Audoli), Sinfonietta de Paris, Les Violins of France…

She participates in many recordings of current music, film music.

She is also a professor of viola and of chamber music at the Conservatoire at the Conservatoire de Pantin and Sevran.
