Catherine Lanco

Catherine Lanco  pursued her musical studies at the CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt, CRR de Paris, and Staatliche Musikhochschule in Freiburg, Germany, where she obtained a piano prize with highest honours and a diploma in education. She also obtained the  Diplôme de Spécialisation (postgraduate qualification) at the CRR de Strasbourg. She received instruction from such renowned artists as Vitali Berzon, Laurent Cabasso, André Gorog, Billy Eidi, Théodore Paraskivesco, John Perry, Pascal Devoyon, Hortense Cartier-Bresson… She has been invited to the Musical Academy (Académie Musicale) in Villecroze in the framework of its sponsorship of young talents.

Passionate about chamber music repertoire, she performs in numerous venues in France and Germany (Moments musicaux de Gerberoy, Théâtre d’Eu, Maison de l’Unesco à Paris, Espace Bernanos, Institut Français, Palais des congrès de Schoelcher…) with the ensemble Amateo, in sonatas, trios, quintettes. She accompagnied singers in recitals, played with flutists Ivan Degardin and François Veilhan, and also played piano pieces for four hands and solo repertoire. She recorded several Cds and the original soundtrack for a feature film by Duran Cohen.

Teaching plays a great part in her musical life. Catherine Lanco is a full professor in the CRC de Houilles en Yvelines.
