Gayané Doneyan begins to play the recorder at the age of seven at Bry-sur-marne ( 94 ) Conservatory. Her attraction for ancient instruments and for chamber music leads her to specialize in Baroque and Renaissance directories with Françoise Defours at Aubervilliers-La Courneuve regional Music Academy, then with Denis Raisin-Dadre in Tours.

At the same time, she started playing the piano, then the pianoforte, in particular at the Royal Academy of Music in Brussels.

She occurred in France and abroad (Italy, Slovenia, Belgium) during a decade with ” Le Caprice Baroque “, group she based with the flutist Clémence Grégoire, with whom she was finalist in the competition of Early music of Antwerp (Belgium), and recorded a CD dedicated to Bach and Haendel cantatas and sonatas in trio; she occurred also with the French-Belgian consort of Renaissance recorders “Alba Novella”.

Beginning to explore new stylistic horizons, she obtained a Price in the Tremplin of Rabastens (81) in duet with the recorder player Emilie Volle, in a program involving Japanese contemporary music and Italian medieval music.

At the moment, she discovers the wealth of the Ars subtilior, and more particularly the Manuscript of Cyprus (end of XIVth s) with “Palma Ociosa”, trio which she trains with Cécile Beaupain (viol and voice) and Richard Maygnan (lutes) since 2011.
