Jean-François Desrus

Born in Paris, Jean-François Desrus is concert violonist and violist, and violin teacher with a Music Teaching Certificate in classical violin.

After his music studies in the Ecole Supérieure de musique Bourgogne Franche-Comté with Anne Mercier, where he studies the violin , the pedagogy and the musicology, he improves with Geza Kapas in Germany. He afterwards turns to jazz music, meets Jean-Luc Ponty in a masterclass, and studies with Didier Lockwood in the Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood.

​He regularly plays in classical orchestras like the National Youth Orchestra of France (OFJ) and the orchestra Helios, as well as in jazz bands where he highlights the music of Django Reinhardt and the improvisation.

Jean-François Desrus is teacher in the A.V.E.C association in Chanteloup-les-Vignes, where he teaches the violin and the piano.
He is also applicant for the studies for the Certificat of Aptitude of violin teacher at the Conservatoire of Paris (CNSMDP) .
​He can teach in french, but also in english and german if necessary.
