Lever and pedal harp

Concertist and teacher, Valérie Patte studied classical harp at the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris with Brigitte Sylvestre. She discovered and enjoyed the techniques and sounds of contemporary music and became passionate about rare repertoire and all forms of musical expression.
She graduated from the Conservatoire National de Région de Paris with a “Médaille d’or de harpe à l’unanimité” (Harp Gold Medal) obtained a Diplôme d’Etudes Musicales (musical studies diploma) of harp, she is also a laureate of the Concours Général des Lycées (a national musical competition), and has a Diplôme d’Etat (national french diploma of pedagogy).

She is the harp teacher at the Conservatoire du Vésinet, at the Conservatoire de Maurepas, and at the Maison d’Education de la Légion d’honneur, in St Germain en Laye.
She searches beauty without stylistic restriction, as it can be heard in her recordings (contemporary, classical, improvised, film scores…) and concerts.
She has created many blogs about the harp, as well as the international Facebook group: “Lever harp and small harps”.
She is particularly devoted to the lever harps as she fell in love with their beautiful sound, their harmonic possibilities, and she loves to develop their repertoire with a great curiosity.
